East vs. West

It seems like this simple debate occurs in almost all subjects.
Western philosophies vs. Eastern philosophies;
East Coast rappers vs. West Coast rappers;
Easter Bunny vs.... well, you get the point.

Now the debate has reached Georgia Tech!
I ask you now, which dining hall is better? Brittain (East) or Woodruff (West)?
Please add your reasoning why when you post.

I personally find Woodruff much better, and I think most people will agree. I live on the East Campus, but I find myself eating in West Campus at least a few times a week.
First off, the food always seems to be fresher. Unless you go to Brittain during a meal transition (breakfast to lunch or lunch to dinner), the food has usually been sitting there for a while. During these transitions the dining hall is usually packed, and I have to wait in long lines to get the food. My rice almost always seems to be a bit hard, so I've learned to avoid it now. Other foods have been soaking in their own juices and are very wet. The foods that don't have juices are dry and flavorless.
Secondly, the food selection is much greater in Woody's. There's are so many choices of food it's actually tough for a hungry guy like me to eat even a tiny bit of everything. They even have food specifically for vegetarians or vegans!
Best of all, they make the sandwiches for you! What more can you ask for?

So, I'm clearly in favor of Woodruff dining hall. How about the rest of you?

  1. I just moved into campus two weeks ago, and the 1 week I've spent eating at Woodruff, I've really enjoyed it. I haven't tried Brittain yet, but from what I've heard so far (yours adding to the list), it's a place to avoid.

    There are so many options, that even in one week of eating there, I haven't tried everything. So my vote goes to Woodruff.

  2. I have only eaten at Woodruff hall one time so far this year so i probably can't offer too much weight on this arguement, but so far i would have to say that i enjoyed woodruff more than Britain. It seemed much bigger with much more options. The obvious advantage to this was shorter lines. At Britain lines are always long and they run out of food a lot. That shouldn't seem to be a problem that woodruff has. Pretty soon, i could very well go out of my way to eat at woodruff.

  3. I have never been to Britain before but I love love love Woodys. Everyday, there are different varieties of food. One day, I had a bacon cheeseburger with fries and the next day I had an italian pasta made fresh with the ingredients that I wanted. I love the fact that they cook everything just for you so it is guaranteed fresh. I love Woodys and I would definitely recommend it for those of you who are wondering what dining hall is better.

  4. First off, i need to say that I have never been to Woodruf Hall. I normally eat a Britain twice a day, and i've had a few negative experiences but nothing major. A couple times i've gone they have been out of food but most of the time they have a good selection. I like their burgers, and pizza. I ate 4 cheeseburgers just the other day haha. I kept asking the guy at the custom grill to make me more. On the other hand i have nothing to compare my dining experience to, but Britain is literally right next to my dorm so it does have the whole convenience factor to it. I'll try to check out woodruff sometime

  5. I haven't try woodruf, but I love the double cheeseburger of Brittan! I love junk food!

    By the way, why all of your comments are so long...

  6. I've never been to Woodruf because it is too far away. Britain is next to my dorm so it is convenient. The only negative experience I've had with Britain was that the rice was hard. Other than that, the food tastes fine to me, but that is probably because my standards are low. If I do not despise the taste then it is okay to eat.

  7. I live on the west campus, so i go to woodruff a lot. They have got variety of choices to pick, and they might seem better than Brittain. But, sometimes the food I eat in the morning is same as the food I eat for dinner, and from what i have heard so far, the breakfast in Brittain is fresher than that in Woodruff.

  8. I would have to say I definitely prefer Woodies over the castle-esque Brittain dining hall. Just the atmosphere of Brittain makes the food seem un-cheerful (if that's possible for food) while Woodies offers a brighter more fresh area. Not to mention I had a gyro at Woodies two nights ago which was absolutely scrumptious! Also, the burger I had at Brittain seemed slightly burnt... not nearly as appetizing as the Double Bacon Cheeseburger at Woodies. :) yummmm

  9. I've only eaten once at Brittain so I can't really make a big deal about Woodruff. However, I will concur on the shorter lines. The one time I went to Brittain was when it was "rush hour" with even the line to get in being long. The line exceeded the doorway. I've only seen that once at Woodruff and it was when I was not eating there.
    <3 Junk food on a side note.
    In either dining hall though, I like the aqua blast (?) drink that I rarely get at the movie theaters... minus the aftermath.

  11. I have been to both dining halls and personally feel that Woodruff is better than Brittain dining hall since the selection is vaster,the atmosphere and seating arrangements are better,the food tastes better in Woodruff(yeah unbelievably,the same food too,just in different halls)....ok I guess it's also a bit psychological to like Woodruff better since that's what all our seniors have been telling us..Although i think Woodruff is one up on Brittain,I live on East campus,so I sustain on Brittain's food to avoid the long commute,and don't think it's too bad(Me being a staunch Vegetarian too)....It's not half as bad as people make it out to be...:-D
