Britain on weekends

So i have a ten meal plan, and since the food court closes on weekends i end up using most of my meals on weekends. The problem with that is britain seems much worse on the weekends than it does during the rest of the week. The food seems to be in short supply, and the food that is there looks as if its been sitting out for a while. I guess they do that because the dining hall is rarely crowded on weekends, but it would be nice to see it up to the standard that it is on weekdays.

  1. Something interesting happened at woody today. The staff set tables and moved the food and the stuff to the courtyard in front of the dining hall. So we have to get our food outside and then bring our food back to the dining hall to eat. I don't know why they did so.

  2. I hate it when Brittain doesn't have food. Although it probably is more common during the weekends, it definitely happens on weekdays too.
The trick is to try to avoid the "dead time" between meals. Usually this is only 1.5 hours on weekdays, but it can last up to 3 hours on weekends.

  3. They probably have a reduced staff during weekends. I would guess this would contribute to the lack of food and "dead time".

As for having the food at Woodruff outside, I believe every Thursday at Brittain they hold a barbeque where they cook everything outside but everyone still eats inside.

  4. Yea woodies didnt have much food today... All they had were pizza and burgers and we had to go out side to get them. Seriously dont get it. Its cold out and the staff have to do extra work to set up the tables and stoves. They also have to freeze their ass off out there serving us food. Pointless seriously.

  5. Actually, this past Sunday, Woodruff dining hall actually organized a pretty cool grill n barbecue set-up in which they grilled, fried and roasted all of our favorite steaks and stuff. It was pretty nice change for once.

I think all these accusations are unfair... the staff works 7 days a week, and they do work real hard... I've seen them. I think we're quite lucky to have such great dining services. I mean, I'm sure a few of you remember those terrible high school cafeterias.

  6. In response to the post about trying to miss the dead times:
If you do miss the dead times, then you often get stuck waiting in such lovely lines. I would say the real trick is to come in that perfect time between a dead time and a peak time. That is when the staff have prepared a lot of food in anticipation in a spike in demand, and are just putting it out so that the opportunists might grab the cream of the crop before the masses arrive.

  7. I don't know how many times I've had to say this... but its BRITTAIN, not Britain the country. Just letting you know.
